Metals & Minerals

Metals and trace elements were known long before vitamins were discovered. But when they were discovered in the early 20th century, vitamins overshadowed them. Metals provide firmness and strength to the skeleton, are used as components of organic compounds, regulate fluid balance in the body and take part in many metabolic processes. The main effects of taking metals are the regulation of the organic balance in water, the smoother distribution of nutrients, the relative maintenance of normal blood acidity, and the better functioning of the exocrine and endocrine glands. We distinguish metals in inorganic elements which are the most necessary. They are found in large quantities in our body. The least necessary we call trace elements and they are found in very small quantities in our body. Finally, there are heavy metals or toxins that cause serious health problems, so they should be avoided.
