Article main body:

CBD vs THC

Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two major cannabinoid ingredients found by nature in cannabis.

CBD and THC are the two most abundant compounds found in hemp. However, they have fundamentally different properties and benefits.

THC, a psychotropic intoxicating and illegal substance, is responsible for causing "cannabis" to cannabis users. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause euphoria. CBD is non-psychoactive because it does not act in the same ways as THC.

A 2011 review published in Current Drug Safety concludes that CBD "does not interfere with many psychomotor and psychological functions". While CBD can be completely separated from THC and CBD cannot make you feel euphoric, the stigma is still there, as many people tend to confuse the two compounds and think there is only one cannabis variety. You just need to know this:

It is impossible to get to the euphoria of smoking or swallowing CBD extracted from industrial cannabis plants, as they have little trace of THC (<0.3%).

Is CBD legal? Yes, CBD oil produced from industrial hemp plants is legal to sell and buy in the US. In 2014, Congress and President Obama signed into law the Agricultural Act of 2015 (also known as the "Farm Bill"). According to Section 7606, federal law provides for the cultivation, processing and marketing of industrial hemp products, including cannabis derived from industrial hemp.
According to US federal law, industrial hemp products (containing less than 0.3% THC) can be marketed in all 50 states.

In Greece, after the adoption of the law on industrial cannabis, (GG B, 929/2016) the cultivation as well as the introduction of CBD preparations in our country becomes legal.
